The First Rehearsal

Today I turn 64. You know the lyrics. It's also the first rehearsal of my first produced play. I've been writing longer than I've been acting. Someone admonished me to only submit my very best and most complete work when seeking publication or production. That's a big order when it really takes a reader or an audience to complete the process. Maybe that's why it's taken me this long to "go public." When I retired 6 years ago I swore to leave the writing closet locked and start over. Of course I've discovered that the closet is in my mind and it really can't be locked.
