Opening Night Jitters
My short story, Cosmo Yarrow Blows His Brains Out received honorable mention in Glimmer Train's Family Matters Competition. You writers out there know that Glimmer Train is one of the most respected short stories in print journals out there. My story was expanded from an incident referred to in my play, Some Day for a Crown.
Although I wasn't there, opening night jitters are out of the way. That is, the first rehearsal is over. I had a dream that I was building the set for the play and it suddenly was staged in the 19th century. The characters' names in Some Day for a Crown have been selected from mostly random people on my family tree from my father's side. Maybe one of them wants me to start a play about them!
